Here’s Everything You Need to Know About Traveling with Cebu Pacific in the New Normal

As vaccinations continue their rollout, there are those who are already thinking of their travel plans. Many purchased tickets in the past and are just waiting for the go signal to fly or rebook their flights. I know I’m one of those people. I have a flight to Osaka that I keep rebooking and I have another Japan trip that’s just waiting to be scheduled.

If you’re one of those who are patiently waiting for borders to reopen, here are some updates from Cebu Pacific on their policies. These cover voluntary flight changes, cancellations, an improved CEB Flexi offering, swab testing, and their participation in the Ingat Angat initiative:

New voluntary flight change policy starting July

Starting July 1, 2021, the travel fund option for voluntary flight changes will only be available for passengers who pre-purchased the CEB Flexi add-on during the initial booking. The add-on allows passengers to cancel their flights for free, up to two hours before departure, and store the value of the booking in a Travel Fund for as low as P499.

The amount in this virtual wallet is valid for two years and may be used to book new flights or purchase other add-ons such as seat selection, additional baggage allowance, or travel insurance.

If you didn’t purchase CEB Flexi, you still have the unlimited rebooking option valid up to two hours before your scheduled time of departure. CEB has permanently removed change fees since March to provide everyone with the much-needed flexibility during this time.

Passengers affected by flight cancellations will continue to have the standard options offered by CEB, namely: unlimited rebooking, refund, and travel fund.

CEB introduces the new and improved CEB Flexi product

Passengers can also avail of the CEB Flexi product as a bundle through GO Flexi to enjoy free cancellation, checked-in baggage with a combined weight of up to 20 kilos, and a standard seat.

CEB offers the most affordable RT-PCR swab test for only P2,500

CEB ramps up its Test Before Boarding (TBB) process as it now offers the cheapest RT-PCR test at only P2,500 versus other local carriers, exclusively for its passengers.

CEB offers the RT-PCR test through its two accredited partners – Health Metrics, Inc. (HMI) and Safeguard DNA Diagnostics Inc. (SDDI). This special rate is solely for passengers booked on Cebu Pacific and Cebgo. Results are guaranteed to be released within 48 hours, while a guaranteed 24-hour turnaround period is priced at P3,200 for both laboratories.

The Philippine Airport Diagnostic Laboratory (PADL) also offers both RT-PCR and antigen tests exclusively for CEB passengers, for only P3,300 and P700, respectively. The TBB testing facility at the NAIA Terminal 3 is also open for walk-ins daily, with fees to be directly paid to PADL.

Passengers booked on Cebu Pacific and Cebgo can easily choose and book appointments via this website. From there, you will be redirected to each laboratory’s page to finalize your schedule online.

Cebu Pacific joins Ingat Angat

The Philippine economy is expected to recover, but this will depend on the fast and safe rollout of vaccines. Right now, there are multi-sectoral initiatives working in conjunction with the Department of Health (DOH) and the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) to help manage the country’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic. One such initiative is Ingat Angat, a cooperation of companies who have committed to pool their resources to help restart the economy.

Among the companies that immediately heeded the call to help the government’s pandemic relief efforts under the banner of Ingat Angat is Cebu Pacific. The carrier is the only airline working with the group to transport these life-saving vaccines throughout the country.

To date, Cebu Pacific has flown 4.5 million COVID-19 doses from China in coordination with the DOH, on top of more than 1.1 million doses delivered safely from Manila to 13 provinces in the country. In May, it delivered the largest single shipment of 1.5 million doses of Sinovac vaccines carried by any Philippine carrier. It also continues to regularly transport PPEs and medical supplies across the country.
