Starbucks Launches 4 New Teavana Drinks for Summer

I always look forward to Starbucks’ summer drinks. They’re always super refreshing and are the perfect antidote to the unbearable heat. This summer is just as unforgivable and I’d find myself sweating even when I’m in bed reading or working in front of the fan. So imagine my joy when I discovered Starbucks’ new Teavana beverages. They launched four limited drinks two days ago and I got to try them all.

Here are my thoughts:

Sunshine Pineapple Oolong

The Sunshine Pineapple Oolong is refreshing because of the tart and sweet flavors of pineapple (as the name suggests). The base is the Teavana™ Zen Clouds Oolong tea, which debuted at the Shanghai Starbucks Reserve™ Roastery. It’s mixed with real golden pineapple chunks, pineapple sauce, and a fluffy honey cold foam at the top. This is a great drink to have during the peak of summer. I especially enjoyed the pineapple chunks, which I suspect have been candied.

Side note: Oolong is made from the same leaves that make black and green tea (Camellia sinensis). Its difference is its oxidation point or the process when the leaves turn dark. Oolong is halfway between black and green tea.

Sunshine Peach Oolong

Replace pineapple with peach and you have the Sunshine Peach Oolong. This one is mixed with peach juice and white peach jelly chunks. It’s also topped with honey cold foam for that sweet finish. This one has a stronger tea taste and I recommend this for those looking for that recognizable flavor.

Triple Golden Monkey

Fans of milk tea will love the Triple Golden Monkey. This indulgent drink is a blend of Golden Monkey Black Tea and oatmilk. It’s also mixed with crunchy tea-flavored cookie crumbs, which was an excellent treat. It’s topped with silky tea foam.

Cocoa Golden Monkey

This is the chocolate version of the Triple Golden Monkey. I recommend them both so your order will depend what you’re in the mood for: milk tea or chocolate. Golden Monkey Black Tea is paired with oatmilk, mocha sauce, and more crunchy tea-flavored cookie crumbs. This also comes with silky tea foam.

The drinks are available only as an iced Grande handcrafted beverage for P175. Orders come in a cute reusable cup!

If you’re in the mood for a Frappuccino, you can try the new Cocoa Caramel Coffee Frappuccino. This is a combination of Starbucks’ Caramel Frappuccino and Frappuccino chocolate chips, topped with espresso whipped cream and caramel drizzle. I know what I’ll be trying next! This drink is available for a limited time and comes in Tall (P170), Grande (P185), and Venti (P200).
