“Potted Potter” is Returning to Manila This Year

There’s one show you shouldn’t dare miss if you’re a fan of both the Harry Potter franchise and theater. Potted Potter is returning to Manila this 2019!

Potted Potter condenses all seven Harry Potter books (and a real-life game of Quidditch) into 70 minutes. The show features all your favorite characters, a fire-breathing dragon, costumes, songs, props, and lots of Hogwarts magic!

The show premiered in Manila in 2012, followed by sold-out performances in 2013 and 2014. Now it’ll be back with nine shows beginning March 20 at the Maybank Performing Arts Theater.

Daniel Clarkson and Jefferson Turner created Potted Potter in 2005. It was first staged at a London bookshop as a five-minute show for fans awaiting the release of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. From there it became a full-length stage production, debuting at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2006. The New York Times called it “gloriously goofy” while The Guardian declared that “it’s a winner in every way.”

The show has since toured internationally for over a decade, and has played off-Broadway for two sold-out seasons and on the West End for five runs. It has also secured an Olivier Award nomination as Best Entertainment and Family Show.
