When people say that the Philippines is a pageant-obsessed country, they meant it. Even the Philippine National Police (PNP) has their own pageant, and a Zamboanga policewoman was crowned as this year’s Miss PNP Ganda Pulis.

Police Officer 1 (PO1) Madonna Gay Cajoco was crowned the title at a ceremony in the PNP headquarters in Camp Crame, and also went home with Best in Ethnic Costume, Miss Mac Cosmetics, Miss MX3, Best in Resorts Wear, and Best in Long Gown. Cajoco also took home P50,000 and other products.

As the winner, Cajoco will become the police force ambassadress and represent PNP in advocacies like the Recovery and Wellness Program, Community-Based Rehabilitation Program, and other initiatives concerning women and children.

The other contestants also stunned the judges with their beauty and intelligence. PO2 May Shell Oro from Northern Mindanao won Miss Makadiyos, PO1 Cris Pastores of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) won Miss Makatao, PO1 Elymor Chrysma Caberto from the Cordillera Region won Miss Makabayan, and PO1 Anne Jerica Buenafe was crowned Miss Makakalikasan.
