It’s no secret that I spend a lot of time in Starbucks. It’s where I go to work, read, or hang out with my friends and family when I’m out of the house. Because I’m there a lot, I’ve had many instances when the barista is patiently waiting as I look for my wallet in my bag and then look for cash or my Starbucks card. And as a firm believer of productivity, what I do is wasted time.
Thankfully, Starbucks launched its new mobile app so I can conveniently pay for my drinks just by scanning my smartphone!
The Starbucks mobile app is easy to use and can be used across 300 Starbucks stores around the country. The “Shake to Pay” feature works as the name suggests: shake your smartphone and have the barista scan the barcode to access your account and pay using your balance.
From there, you can also access your Starbucks Rewards account to manage your cards, view past transactions, and track your balance, all in real time. The best part? You can also see how many Stars you already have and need to get before you can redeem your free Grande drink, whole bean coffee, or Teavana packaged tea!
Because I’m on the move a lot, I like the store locator feature where I can find the nearest Starbucks. You can learn more about the store like its exact address (and how far away it is from you), contact number, and store hours. On top of that, you get a newsfeed and a virtual menu featuring all the food and drink items, along with a short description.
