You Can Now Go Cashless Shopping with GCash!

Christmas may be the most wonderful time of the year but the days leading up to it isn’t. People have to navigate a tricky road to finishing all work deliverables, finishing their Christmas shopping, dealing with worsening traffic, and making holiday plans. Almost all of these involve money, which means longer lines at the ATM.

To avoid the hassle of lining up at the ATM to withdraw and carrying huge amounts of cash this Christmas (and the rest of the year), GCash is now offering a scan to pay option where you can pay in popular retail stores using just your phone!

GCash’s scan to pay feature is easy to use: simply scan the QR code of participating establishments using the GCash app. I bought a bottle of Rajo One perfume at Bench and it took me less than a minute to settle the payment. No need to rummage through my bag for my wallet and getting cash or my card. It also removes the hassle of counting change and storing them in your wallet or coin purse.

Many establishments now accept the scan to pay feature of GCash. You can use them in Glorietta’s establishments, including the SSI Group, Bench Group, Max’s Group, Glorietta cinemas, Timezone, and the Movie Snackbar.

It will be rolled out to other Ayala Malls like Greenbelt, TriNoma, Market! Market!, Alabang Town Center, Ayala Center Cebu, Bonifacio High Street, UP Town Center, Ayala Malls the 30th, Ayala Malls Vertis North, and Ayala Malls South Park.

Apart from cinemas in Ayala malls, you can also use the Scan to Pay feature in Uptown Cinemas at Uptown Mall in Fort Bonifacio. Soon, it will roll out in more cinemas under Megaworld Lifestyle Malls, as well as parking. This month, you can enjoy a 10% rebate when you purchase tickets using GCash!

The feature is also available in more than 50 SM Stores nationwide, meaning you can buy everything from clothing to accessories, perfumes, beauty products, home and office accessories, and many more.

For foodies, the GCash’s scan to pay feature is available at Mercato Central in Bonifacio Global City, while bargain hunters can use it in the celebrity bazaar hotspot Noel Bazaar.

Apart from cashless shopping, you can use GCash to buy prepaid load, pay bills, send money, and pay for other goods and services. You can do cash-ins at any GCash kiosk, Globe Store, and 13,000 partner outlets including all 7-Eleven Cliqq kiosks, Puregold branches, SM Business Centers, Robinsons Business Centers, TouchPay kiosks, and pawnshops such as Cebuana Lhuillier, Villarica, and Tambunting.

GCash is available for download on the App Store and the Google Play Store.
