It’s a great year for culture this 2017. This January, the Bonifacio Art Foundation, Inc. (BAFI) launched the BGC Arts Center, the new centerpiece of Bonifacio Global City dedicated to supporting the thriving art scene. On its inauguration, the center also kicked off the first BGC Arts Center Festival, a two-day festival filled with performances and events by Filipino artists.
It’s only been six months, but the second BGC Arts Center Festival will be held this weekend and I’m already excited!
The second BGC Arts Center Festival will have the theme “BGC Loves Local,” a reference to the Independence Day weekend. For its second run, the festival has invited groups to perform plays, dances, children’s theater, improv, and more. The festival will run simultaneously with the Manila Maker Faire, the local leg of an international event that will invite 50 Filipino innovators in the “greatest show and tell and make on Earth,” which will be held at the Mind Museum.
