Jollibee Partners with the Philippine Rugby Football Union!

Jollibee is one of the country’s sources of pride, so it makes sense that it would team up with other organizations that make us proud to be Filipino. Their latest partner is the Philippine Rugby Football Union (PRFU), and a memorandum of agreement (MOA) was signed on April 10 to finalize the alliance.

The PRFU is authorized by World Rugby as the official governing body of rugby union in the Philippines. It includes the Philippine national men’s rugby team, or the Volcanoes.

Under the agreement, Jollibee will sponsor the PRFU teams, the PRFU Leagues, and the PRFU Get Into Rugby (GIR) program. The program is a World Rugby program to grow the game around the world by getting the youth to “try, play, and stay” the sport.

Apart from sponsoring the teams, the agreement will ensure that the Jollibee brand will be included in the GIR program kit, the team will participate in a Jollibee corporate event, Jollibee will be recognized as a sponsor through collateral exposure and announcements, and will be included in the website and digital assets.

The MOA was signed by PRFU treasurer William Bailey and Jollibee Global Brand Chief Marketing Officer Francis Flores, in the presence of PRFU National Teams Head Jake Letts and Jollibee Philippines Brand Communications PR Director Arline Adeva.

It is an exciting time for this partnership as the Volcanoes recently won the 2017 Asia Trophy Series title in Qatar, with an undefeated winning streak. The team is currently in Singapore, competing in the SEA 7s, which features the top teams in the region. The players competing in Singapore are Joshua Aragon, Alex Aronson, Timothy Bweheni, Justin Coveney, Joe Dawson, Chris Everingham, Edlen Hernandez, Gareth Holgate, Jonel Madrona, Jovan Maslunga, Manuel Olondriz, and Christian Vitug.

This August, they will compete at the 2017 Southeast Asia Games in Malaysia.
