I was thinking about tacos a few days ago and how good it would be to have some. Like most cravings, it came out of nowhere and was on the verge of consuming me until I gave in to it. While trying to figure out the root cause, I found out that October 4 is National Taco Day. That explains it. Maybe my stomach was anticipating it?
To celebrate the occasion, Taco Bell is launching their DIY Taco Kit, where you can create your very own, personalized version of tacos exactly the way you want it. You don’t have to leave your home as the kit is available through GrabFood and foodpanda, or ordered directly from the store through 8911-1111. The last part is for select areas only. To make it more fun, GrabFood will be waiving the P59 delivery fee if you have a minimum purchase of P599 from October 1 to 7.
I got to try it out and here’s my experience:
Each Taco Bell DIY Taco Kit comes with a choice of 4 crunchy taco shells or tortilla for soft tacos. It has all the ingredients to the chain’s Classic Taco Supreme, such as the beef, sour cream, fresh shredded lettuce, cheddar cheese, and diced tomatoes.
To prepare, you just take your taco shell, place the beef along the base, add sour cream, sprinkle the lettuce, then add the cheese and tomatoes. It’s that simple. It comes with instructions so it’s hard to mess up.
What I like about the DIY Taco Kit is that it’s customizable. There are enough ingredients to go around so don’t be afraid to indulge. For my first set of tacos, I was modest in adding them because I was afraid I would run out. I had already eaten half of the kits when I realized I would have leftover beef. Go crazy. It’s National Taco Day!
Fans of tacos can express their love for this dish by using the exclusive Taco Bell National Taco Day frame on Facebook. If you present your taco-ed up profile at any Taco Bell branch on October 4, you get a free taco with a minimum spend of just P300.
I’m happy that I got to fulfill my cravings with Taco Bell on National Taco Day. Get yours, too!
