I’m not a good dancer but I enjoy watching people and groups show off their moves in the club, on movies and TV, and performances. So when Robinsons Townville invited me to their dance contest, I immediately said yes. The mall held #OurFunOurSquad, which gathered different dance crews as they performed the latest dance mix of the Robinsons Townville jingle.
Folk Jumpers took home the grand prize of P10,000 worth of Robinsons gift certificates (GCs) and P5,000 worth of cash. Beat Dancers landed in 2nd place and received P7,000 worth of GCs and P3,000 cash while Novel Crime settled for 3rd place and got P3,000 worth of GCs and P2,000 worth of cash.
To make the event more exciting, Robinsons Townville invited Los Angeles-based YouTube content creator and international dancing sensation Ken San Jose to dance for the crowd at Pulilan, Bulacan. The young prodigy has worked with international acts like Jason Derulo, WilldaBeast, and Alexander Chung, and has gained national attention after joining The World of Dance Philippines.
I had a great time seeing the dancers showcase their skills. One even had a thought-provoking theme that encouraged the government to stop drug use and end extrajudicial killings. While not everyone went home with a prize and title, I’m sure everyone will go far in the field of dance. Wish I could be as good as them!
