One of the festive parts of Christmas in the Philippines is the Starbucks holiday offerings. People get into a frenzy collecting stars for the planners (more on that in a separate post, but I have some photos on my Instagram Stories), trying the new seasonal drinks and food, and buying the colorful Starbucks merch. This year’s collection is wonderful and I have everything you need to know about it here:
This 2018, Starbucks is bringing three holiday drinks, with two returning favorites: the Toffee Nut Crunch Latte, the Peppermint Mocha, and the new Snowy Cranberry White Mocha. Of course, fans will remember the Toffee Nut Crunch Latte‘s sweet and buttery toffee nut flavors and the Peppermint Mocha‘s chocolate and peppermint flavors topped with candy cane pieces. The Snowy Cranberry White Mocha is something to look forward to, with its roasty espresso, steamed milk, toasty white chocolate sauce, generously topped with whipped cream and cranberry sugar sprinkles.
All drinks are available in hot, iced, and blended formats in Tall (P175), Grande, (P190), and Venti (P205).
There’s plenty of treats available and there’s something for every mood, whether you’re looking for something savory or sweet.
For savory dishes, there’s my fave Mexican-Style Chicken Fajita Roll (P125), the Cranberry Pistachio Turkey Flatbread (P105) with chicken, turkey sausage, spinach and cheese, and my new fave, the Baked Burrito (P185) with Mexican rice.
For sweet snacks, there’s the Almond Matcha Doughnut (P65) with its white chocolate matcha glaze and almond slivers, the Choco Peanut Butter Bun (P95) with crushed roasted peanuts and a chocolate and peanut drizzle, the rich Baked Cheese Tart (P75) with a cream cheese filling, and the creamy Cereal Milk Pudding (P65) in mini cups with cereal flakes.
It’s also chocolate overload with the 17-layer Chocolate Crepe Cake (P160 per slice / P1,440 for a whole) with Belgian chocolate cream filling, the Chocolate Toffee Nut Loaf (P70 per slice / P625 a loaf), the decadent Chocolate Oat Cheesecake (P195 per slice / P2,145 for a hole) with dark and milk chocolate, and vanilla white cheesecake with a chocolate oat crust, and the Christmas Barks (P70) with its combination of dark, milk, and white chocolate barks with cranberries, strawberries, and pistachio. For sweets on the go, I recommend the Choco Chip Overload Cookies (P85) with milk and dark chocolate chunks and chips, and the Chocolate Cracked Cookies (P85) dusted with confectioner’s sugar.
Another recommended treat is the chiffon-light Vanilla Blueberry Cake (P175 per slice / P1,575 for a whole) with milky cream frosting and blueberry cookie crumble.
The Starbucks Christmas Blend is returning and you can choose between the Christmas Blend, the Christmas Blend Espresso Roast, and the Starbucks Reserve Christmas Blend.
The Christmas Blend uses raw aged Sumatra with spicy and sweet flavors, bringing complementary flavors of orange, nutmeg, clove, and cinnamon. Meanwhile, the Christmas Blend Espresso Roast features cedary and herbal spiciness with a caramel sweetness, recalling flavors of ginger, orange, pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and caramelized sugar.
Those with more discerning flavors will appreciate the Starbucks Reserve Christmas Blend, which has a woodsy aroma of mulled spice, with flavors of maple, cheese, and cloves. This blend is exclusively available at Reserve bars.
Of course, one of the most awaited parts of a Starbucks Christmas is the launch of the planners and Starbucks has outdone itself yet again with four offerings: two planners and two travel organizers.
The planners come in espresso and milk, and features a canvas cover with metallic old and copper stamping. It comes in a weekly format with the opposite page for notes in a grid format for bullet journaling, and a monthly activity with a hashtag. I like the calligraphy inspired artwork as it adds a customized touch to it. All planners come with a canvas pouch and a limited edition Starbucks card.
Those who move on the go will like the Starbucks travel organizers, which come in dark teal and sienna. The notebooks are in grid format to allow full customization and sketching. The organizer has space for a phone, a pen, earphones, and other valuables. All travel organizers come with a special edition Starbucks card.
The promo for the Starbucks 2019 planner and travel organizer will begin on November 2, 2018. More about it and a giveaway soon! Make sure to watch out for that because I’ll also be sharing the details for the Starbucks For a Year promo!
Starbucks card collectors will love the Starbucks Holiday Gift Card Collection, which features different Christmas moments like snowmen, the holiday tree, and the country-exclusive Maligayang Pasko card, available for a P300 activation. They will all be available in stores starting November 2, 2018.
