BGC Arts Center Launches the Pinoy Playlist Musical Festival

There’s plenty of homegrown talent in the music scene and there will be another opportunity to showcase our best musicians, this time at the Pinoy Playlist 2018, Ito ay Atin, Sariling Atin, an annual music festival showcasing the complexity of Filipino musicality curated by Maestro Ryan Cayabyab, Moy Ortiz, and Noel Ferrer.

For its first run, the festival will be held on October 11, 12, 13, 18, 19 and 20 at the BGC Arts Center, in Bonifacio Global City.

Pinoy Playlist 2018 will feature 102 performers across all genres, from vocal groups to solo performers, bands, classic, indigenous, pop, and collaborations. Some of the performers are Shanti Dope, Gloc-9, Itchyworms, Ben&Ben, Moonstar88, Abra, Keiko Necessario, Autotelic, Bullet Dumas, and IV of Spades.

What makes this music festival is the curation, which is done by some of the biggest names in OPM. There’s Maestro Ryan Cayabyab, a composer, and conductor behind ballets, musicals, choral pieces, film scores, and television specials; Noel Ferrer,  a respected writer, critic, talent manager, producer of award-winning films and television shows; and Moy Ortiz, one of the original and founding members of the country’s premier vocal group, The Company, of which he is the artistic and musical director.
