As I grow older, I begin to appreciate the Danish concept of hygge (pronounced hooga), or a warm, intimate, and cozy space enjoyed alone or with a small group of friends and family. I no longer want to go to noisy bars or clubs where we can’t even hear each other talk. My favorite activities? Reading books and magazines or watching movies or TV shows on Netflix. Today, we’re going to talk about my Netflix addiction.
These past few months, I’ve been bingeing on original Netflix shows. Some of the recent ones I’ve watched are Riverdale, A Series of Unfortunate Events, and Terrace House. I just finished ASOUE and have just started on Lost in Space, a sci-fi show about a family who gets stranded on a new planet as they try to flee Earth in 2046. It looks good so far.
I’ve become more addicted to the streaming platform because we just upgraded the internet at home to a faster speed. Now, I can stream movies and TV shows at a higher quality and watch them as they were meant to be watched. In terms of audio, I rely on Sennheiser headphones to immerse myself and be part of the story. As someone who’s a little hard of hearing, I need a good device to help me fully understand what I’m seeing.
I’ve been using Sennheiser for two years now and I recently upgraded to their HD 4.20s. With it, I can hear the dialogue, the score, and the background noises that propel the story in films and shows. The earphones’ powerful bass boost is perfect for sci-fi content like Lost in Space, which has crashes, booms, and alien sounds. I can imagine they’re good for horror films but I don’t watch those when I’m alone!
I also use these headphones when listening to music. I’m a big fan of dance music so the earphones’ setup allows me to hear the different layers of the songs I listen to. And while I have given up on clubs, I still like to imagine I’m listening to a DJ live. The Sennheiser HD 4.20s allows me to experience that.
Of course, the brand also has other products to fulfill every audiophile’s needs. They recently launched the Sennheiser Sound Forum, a series of educational events that will share important insights in audio, like how to pick the right headphones for you, gaming trends in the Philippines, selecting mics for audio-for-video applications, caring for audio gear, and a peek into 3D audio from the Sennheiser AMBEO program.
If you want to experience what Sennheiser has to offer, the brand is offering the HD 4.40BT at a 35% discount (now at P6,990) and the HD 4.50BTNC at a 20% discount (now at P9,990) at select Sennheiser stores.
