PH Breaks World Record For Largest Art Lesson

Just in time for the upcoming Art Fair Philippines: Expressions Stationary Shop Inc. (ESSI) broke a new world for the largest art lesson in yesterday’s PINASayang Sining, where 16,692 students from 32 high schools made art at the Quezon Memorial Circle in 45 minutes.

The event surpassed the previous Guinness World Records holder, where 14,135 participants gathered in India on Nov. 11, 2014.

According to ESSI marketing manager Riza Reneses, 25,000 students were expected to attend but some schools declined because they were too far from the venue.

Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista was so impressed that the participating schools would have no classes the following day.

Guinness will conduct a validation before the result is made official. The announcement is expected to take place during ESSI’s gala night on April 20.
