Twenty years ago today, a little coffee shop opened in 6750 Ayala Avenue. It was called Starbucks, a coffee chain from Seattle, and the Makati store was the brand’s third market to open outside North America.
Through the years, Starbucks has become synonymous with great experiences. For me, it’s a place where I can hang out with friends, family, and colleagues. It’s where I catch up on my reading, work, and journaling. There are many things I love about the brand: the delicious beverages and snacks, the genteel atmosphere, and the friendliness of the baristas.
To celebrate its 20th anniversary in the Philippines, Starbucks has created an exclusive line of merchandise featuring the country’s traditional woven design, craftsmanship, and 200 white and emerald Swarovski crystals! Starting today, you can buy the anniversary collection to add dazzle to your hydrating and perk-me-up needs.
Check out the collection below:
20th Anniversary Mug in White Gold
The highlight of the collection is this 20th Anniversary mug in full white gold, generously drizzled with Swarovski crystals. Only 500 pieces of this mug was produced and you can buy yours for P6,295.
Double Wall Ceramic Mugs
The mugs also come in double wall ceramic versions for something more delicate. The designs pay tribute to Filipino heritage, while a touch of decadence is added through the press in white gold covers. Only 1,500 pieces were designed for each mug, and they come in at P4,295.
White Acrylic Tumbler
The collection has the opaque white acrylic tumbler 20th anniversary weave pattern in silver foil, and is the perfect option for those on the go (it’s less fragile than the white gold and ceramic mugs). It’s also perfect for gifting as it comes with a package and a hangtag! The 20th anniversary tumbler is available for P895.
Starbucks 6750 Ayala Mug
If you’re like me who enjoys sipping his coffee or cup of Teavana leisurely, the Starbucks 6750 Ayala Mug is for you. The matte black ceramic mug is designed with a gold siren decal, complete with the address of the first Starbucks in the Philippines at the back. This mug will exclusively be available at the 6750 store for P1,295.
Starbucks Hacienda Alsacia Whole Beans
Starbucks will also release a whole bean packaged coffee grown in its first coffee farm in Costa Rica. The blend is symbolic of the brand’s promise to serve the best-tasting coffee sourced from local farmers around the world.
I’ve been going to Starbucks since I was in high school (from 2001 to 2005) and I’ve seen how the brand grow through the years. As it welcomes its 20th year in the Philippines, I’m excited to see what they have in store for the next two decades!
